Evolving...

I wrote Eric a poem the other day....

here it is...


I'm speaking because I've got something to say
The words may not come out right, right away
But if you listen closely and you promise to pay,
Close attention I promise to not push you away.
I know only the parts of you that you show me
I pray that in time you will not outgrow me
I am pretty huge though, and seeing you down below me
Kind of raises my spirits and takes away 'lonely'
There will be times that I'll explain that it seems
The world is against me and I'll bulge at the seams
I'll give up on goals, plans, friendships and dreams,
Just because I drop the top off my ice-cream.
I might tell you you're wrong when I know you are right
I'll probably push a simple talk to an uncomfortable height
I'll expect you to raise bars when I plummet or plight
because I forget in the end what started the fight
I do love you baloo, of that I am certain
But right now I'm in pain and its no physical hurtin
I can't just dress the wound with a bandaid and polysporin
I've gotta clean whats beneath the physical skin
I want to be right for you
I want to be bright for you
I want to bring light to you
I don't want to fight with you
I just think that I might have to
Make a few drastic changes.
